Cancelled due to weather: An Evening of Yiddish Song and Klezmer
As of Friday, Jan. 23, we have cancelled the Levyosn concert on Sunday, January 25 out of an abundance of caution because of the extreme winter weather headed our way. It may well snow 12” or more on Sunday, after a day of extreme cold and high winds. We are working with Levyosn to find an alternate date in the late spring or even in early fall - more on that as soon as we settle on a date. We are still looking forward very much for Levyosn’s presence!
About Levyosn
Levyosn is a dynamic ensemble specializing in Yiddish song and klezmer. Founded in 2021 and named after the Ashkenazi Hebrew word for the leviathan — a mythical sea creature said to travel the oceans collecting songs, krill, and dreams — the group released its debut album, Levyosn’s Lullaby, on Borscht Beat in 2023. Their repertoire spans traditional and original music in Yiddish, Hebrew, Ladino, and English, enriched by influences from Eastern European folk traditions. Known for intricate arrangements and lush vocal harmonies, Levyosn brings audiences into the heart of Yiddish culture through concerts, participatory song and dance, workshops, and musical celebrations.
